OUR FARM

THE HEART OF OUR LAND

A great natural treasure.

THE FARM

In biodynamics, self-sufficiency is sought, so that the role of a farm is essential to elaborate in it all the precise elements, such as compost, biodynamic preparations and medicinal plants.

A GREAT NATURAL TREASURE

Among our vineyards, the farm, one of our greatest treasures, is home to chickens, geese, donkeys, sheep, horses and cows. All of them help us to improve the ecosystem that surrounds us, contributing to activate the microbial life of the environment.

THE HORSE

For some time now, we have been working some of our vineyards using animal traction. This involves working with a horse, a practice that has almost died out today. This is another step towards bringing human beings closer to the earth, reviving a forgotten friendship, and has become one of the pillars of our viticulture. It is a learning experience that will take time, but our objective is to use it throughout all our vineyards.

ANIMAL TRACTION

WE PLOUGH OUR 22 HECTARES BY HORSE

With a horse you can plough the earth without compacting it, promoting water drainage, the proliferation of roots and their capacity to reach the bedrock, as well as, and perhaps most importantly, obliging the grower to get closer to the earth – to feel it, smell it and observe it. The act of walking and treading the earth allows us to be attentive to what is going on in the vineyards and all that lives in them, a very important form of direct communication.
