A unique environment

COUNTRYSIDE AND VINES

enoturisme_14

We want to share with you a part of the world that is dear to our hearts and take you into the vineyards so that you can see what the earth has to offer for yourself. We express our love of our local region through our respect of environmental friendly principles, including the incorporation of animals within the vineyards, which actively helps the life cycle of the vine. We are always conscious of the fact that Nature and our environment have a direct and important influence on our wines and cavas. We consider it our duty to observe them and to learn to interpret them, thereby ensuring their sustainability.

Celler Batlle

FROM THE VINE TO THE WINE

In 2001, today’s generation of the Gramona family renovated the winery built in 1881 by their great-grandfather, Pau Batlle, and initiated a new project on the outskirts of Sant Sadurní: Celler Batlle. Blending into the landscape of vines, this winery has been built with full respect for the environment and reflects Gramona’s commitment to balancing technology, innovation, and tradition.

This is where the cycle of transformation of the vine’s fruit begins, a cycle which, through meticulous work in the vineyards, will shape the different personalities of our wines. This is where the extensive journey of our long-aged cavas starts.

TRAVEL TO THE ORIGINS OF CAVA

enoturisme_gr_22

In the unique atmosphere of magical tranquility created by the bottles in which our longest-aged cavas lay sleeping, the essence and tradition of the winemaking past are alive and well today at Gramona through the use age-old craft practices. These include the use of the cork stopper, ageing ‘sur lattes’, working the bottles in ‘pupitres’, and disgorging by hand.

Tasting

WITH THE FIVE SENSES

Of course, the ultimate way to appreciate the work of Gramona is to try our wines and cavas. Treating wine as food, as well as a deep-seated part of our culture and tradition, is our real ‘raison d’être’.
